The Global Imperatives towards Sustainability
by Allan J. Navratil
A primer for life
The six interrelated global existential issues of desertification, extinction, global warming, pollution, overpopulation and the essential need of unpolluted fresh water clearly transcend all party politics. Leadership can only be competent where there is full understanding of how the world functions as the need for sustainability is absolute. Defiling by polluting and destroying wildlife on land and sea must cease and all damage be reversed with immediate effect as rapid environmental degradation equates to ultimate nemesis. Deniers or inept functionaries playing games are part of the problem and must not be tolerated. Visionaries able to understand the need for competent long term planning are now absolutely vital for sustainability.

The Author
Allan Navratil was born in 1937 of Czech parents. His Engineer/Chemist father came to Ireland for the establishment of the Sugar industry in 1926. A lifelong farmer with several third level qualifications his engagements with environmental matters have led to the realisation that ill-informed uncoordinated decision making, the pursuit of vested and self-serving interests is behind most of the existential difficulties of which Global Warming is only one. The need for global environmental education, especially for politicians, to achieve essential sustainability is the genesis of this book.
